Travel Insurance
Travel should be about the experience, not the what-ifs. Bcare helps international visitors coming to Thailand — and residents travelling abroad — explore travel insurance solutions suited to their trip.

Who we help with travel insurance
Every trip is different. We regularly speak with:
Visitors to Thailand
International travellers who want cover in place for their time in the Kingdom.
Long-stay travellers
People spending extended periods in Thailand whose needs go beyond a short holiday.
Residents travelling abroad
People living in Thailand who want protection for trips overseas.
Families travelling together
Parents wanting to understand how cover works for children and the whole family.
Frequent travellers
People who travel regularly and want to understand their options across multiple trips.
Adventure-minded travellers
Those planning activities and wanting to understand what may or may not be included.
Two journeys, different considerations
Travel insurance is usually arranged around a specific trip. Eligibility, benefits and conditions depend on the insurer, the product and your travel circumstances — including where you live, where you are going and how long you will be away.

Questions worth asking
- Where am I going, and for how long?
- Am I visiting Thailand, or travelling away from it?
- What activities do I actually plan to do?
- Do I have medical history that should be disclosed?
- Am I travelling alone, or with family?
- When should the cover start relative to booking and departure?

Understanding your insurance
A few terms that come up often in this category, explained in plain language.
- Sum insured / coverage limit
- The maximum amount a policy may pay for a covered claim, or for a particular benefit within the policy. Limits vary by insurer and plan.
- Deductible / excess
- An amount you may be responsible for yourself before the insurer contributes to a claim. Choosing a different deductible can change how a policy is priced.
- Exclusion
- Something a policy states it does not cover. Exclusions differ between policies, which is why reading the wording matters.
- Policy period
- The period of time the policy applies for, as shown on the policy schedule.
- Claim
- A request to the insurer for payment or assistance under the policy. Whether a claim is payable depends on the policy terms and the circumstances.
Common questions
Does travel insurance cover every activity?
No. Adventure and sporting activities are treated differently across insurers and products, and limitations or exclusions may apply. If you have an activity planned, tell us before the trip is arranged.
When should I arrange travel insurance?
Generally as early as practical in the planning process, since some benefits relate to events before departure. What applies depends on the policy.
Does eligibility vary?
Yes. Eligibility can depend on residency, destination, trip length, age and health circumstances, and differs between insurers and products.
Does it replace health insurance?
They are different things designed for different situations. Travel insurance relates to a trip; health insurance relates to ongoing medical cover. We can explain how they differ.
